Employer Relationships
LVS Oxford has several mutually beneficial relationships with local employers.
Our students get valuable work experience, and often full-time jobs, whilst our employers get an insight into putting inclusivity into practice by working with our neurodiverse students.
We are always keen to forge new relationships with companies and organisations, so if you are an interested employer please email Melanie Waller at melanie.waller@lvs-oxford.org.uk
Below are several of our current relationships with local employers.
Blenheim Palace
Blenheim has actively been working with LVS Oxford to help students overcome the unique difficulties and barriers they may encounter as they leave school and enter the workplace.
Eleanor Paice, Guest Services Manager at Blenheim, says:
“One of the most wonderful and rewarding things about working with LVS Oxford, providing work experience for their students, is to see them progress, grow and help mould them into the people they are becoming. It’s amazing to think we are making such a positive impact in someone’s life and are helping to break down any barriers that may have been created for them.”
Begbroke Playgroup
Begbroke Playgroup is a small and friendly nursery for children aged between two and five years old. It has been working with LVS Oxford for the last five years.
General Manager, Karen Smale says:
“It has been good to see how the students have gained confidence and really settle into the role the longer they are here with us. The children absolutely love them because the students always interact so well with them.”
Begbroke Playgroup has been so impressed by the outstanding quality of the students from LVS Oxford that Karen says they would welcome applications from school leavers for any full-time roles that may arise.
Diamond Lightsource
Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility. Scientists from across the country and abroad travel to Diamond on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus to study various samples, from fossils and jet engines to viruses and vaccines. The results they collect are incredibly detailed because Diamond’s machine is 10,000 times more powerful than a traditional microscope. This leads to scientific advances and new knowledge in a host of fields including medicine, environmental science, new materials and cultural heritage.
Students at LVS Oxford have had the opportunity to work with Andy Male, one of Diamond’s Senior Mechanical Project Engineers, to develop their engineering skills and gain first-hand experience of a busy office environment.
Fairytale Farm
Fairytale Farm is a family-friendly attraction dedicated to creating a variety of experiences for visitors of all ages. With a combination of interactive exhibits, adventure play and farm animals, the farm provides a unique and engaging environment for families to explore and enjoy.
There are various attractions and areas for students to get stuck into with work experience at Fairytale Farm. The work can be physically and mentally demanding, building resilience and confidence in our students, and it’s overall a fun and rewarding experience.
Soho Farmhouse
LVS Oxford work with Soho Farmhouse to provide an experience that goes far beyond a simple introduction to hospitality—it equips students with a unique set of professional skills and rich opportunities for personal growth. Soho Farmhouse attracts members and guests from all walks of life, providing an exceptional setting for cultural exposure. This diversity helps students to develop a broader worldview, which supports personal growth and fosters essential qualities such as inclusivity, respect, and empathy.
