On Monday 12th June 2023, some of our Year 9 students got to take a special film and writing workshop with Polly Biswas Gladwin here at LVS Oxford. The workshop was for our expressive arts students who are participating in the Expressive Arts ASDAN short course.
Polly gave a presentation after which students interviewed her all about her life and work.
Students then got to present their own film outline to her and after walking around the school grounds identifying suitable locations for shots everyone returned to the classroom and Polly helped everyone develop ideas for their own short film. The concept of the comedy film, ‘The Priory’ concerns St Philip’s Priory, (the name of the school building when it is was formerly run as a religious house by nuns and friars) – a place, that is in the story, visited by aliens.
Our Year 9 groups thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and learnt so much on developing ideas and the actions that go into making a short film!
