Royal Windsor Horse Show 2023
Our very own Year 10 student Gavina had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Royal Windsor Horse show on with her Pony, Monty on the 11th May.
Gavina’s younger sister, Mum and Nan accompanied her for the early morning start, leaving at 4:30am and after receiving help from tractors pulling their horse lorries through the mud they arrived a few hours later.
Gavina and Monty were in the first class of the day, coming 6th out of 17 entries. They were the highest placed ‘Native’ in their class and Gavina was the youngest person to get placed. Whilst her sister placed 7th in her category, even with the top-classed ponies and horses within their groups!
Gavina and her sister have had their pony Monty since Gavina was 8 years old. He has taken them to many horse and pony shows including Horse of the Year and the RI (Royal International) where only the top 30 ponies get to qualify.
Gavina will be featuring in the next issue of Horse and Hounds magazine, so make sure you keep an eye out!
